Only days before Christmas, after a number of delays due to COVID, the BFFS team began the big move from the Myers Street address to spacious new offices on Rowan Street.
“As with everything in 2020, arranging this move was a complicated and drawn out process, so when we finally got the go ahead, we only had days before Christmas was upon us,” explained Jenny Elvey, BFFS General Manager.
It was all hands on deck as the staff raced against the clock to get the move done, while at the same time ensuring an uninterrupted service to clients. There was also a delay in getting telephones up and running, so for a few days there were staff working at both offices depending on requirements.
“Thanks to a team effort, we were able to get the job done and now only a week into 2021, we are already settling in and starting to feel at home,” said Jenny.
The new facilities will enable BFFS to offer more targeted programs as well as increase BFFS’s capacity to provide emergency relief and financial counselling to the Bendigo community.
“I would like to thank all the staff and volunteers who rolled up their sleeves and helped get the move done in a such a short space of time, your hard work is much appreciated,” concluded Jenny.
